2024
Hi, I’m Alex, founder of Rare Minerals Earth.
My fascination with minerals began with their formation, origin and the stories they tell. Today, I carefully curate authentic crystal and mineral specimens for collectors, interior stylists and enthusiasts alike.
Before starting Rare Minerals Earth, I worked in the trade union movement, which shaped my commitment to ethical sourcing. I work with trusted small-scale miners and family-run operations who care for both their craft and the land.
Rather than offering large volumes, I select fewer, exceptional specimens, each photographed carefully, described accurately and provided with provenance wherever possible.
Whether you’re a seasoned collector or simply discovering the world of minerals, I hope you’ll find something that resonates with you.
did you know…
The word “crystal” comes from the Greek word krystallos, meaning “ice” because ancient Greeks believed clear quartz was permanently frozen water.
THE COLLECTION IS BROAD…
…but it is not random. I tend to choose specimens that make me stop and look properly. That might be because of the colour, the crystal habit, the locality, the rarity or simply because I cannot quite believe that nature made it.

a natural crystal…
…does not always need to be cut, polished or improved. Sometimes the most extraordinary thing about it is that it came out of the ground looking exactly as it does.

minerals are a very visible reminder…
…of what the Earth is capable of doing when it is given the right chemistry, heat, pressure, space and an almost unimaginable amount of time.
