Fluorite Crystal, Green Purple Zoned Cubic Fluorite, Okorusu Mine, Namibia, Natural Mineral Specimen

This natural Okorusu fluorite from Namibia displays an attractive combination of pale mint-green and lavender-purple colour zoning. Much of the specimen consists of a broad, translucent green crystal body, with darker green areas visible beneath the surface and distinct purple bands following parts of the crystal edges. Particularly interesting is the narrow green-purple banding along the lower margin, which becomes more pronounced as the specimen is turned under the light.

The fluorite has a compact, block-like formation with broad cubic faces, stepped growth and areas of contrasting orange-yellow mineral deposits. Its translucency allows the internal colour boundaries to be appreciated from several angles, while the darker green zones give the crystal considerable depth. The upper and rear portions are more irregular, with visible fractures and incomplete crystal surfaces. Its main appeal lies in the layered colour zoning, particularly the contrast between the pale green interior and purple outer bands.
