Welcome to rare minerals earth
ethically sourced, rare crystals from around the globe
Hi, I’m Alex, founder of Rare Minerals Earth.
More than anything, I’m in awe of the natural world. A mineral is a very visible reminder of what the Earth can do when it’s given the right chemistry, heat, pressure, space and an almost unimaginable amount of time. What fascinates me most is the architecture of a crystal – flat faces, sharp points, perfect cubes, repeating patterns, formed underground over thousands or millions of years without anybody designing or shaping them. I can understand the science behind how a piece formed and still find the finished result slightly unbelievable.
That’s why I don’t feel the need to cut, polish or improve a natural specimen. Sometimes the most extraordinary thing about a piece is that it came out of the ground looking exactly as it does.
I know people connect with minerals for very different reasons. Some care about the geology, the crystallography, the rarity or the locality. Others are drawn to meditation, energy work, symbolism, colour, or simply the feeling a piece gives them. I respect all of those perspectives, but you won’t find me presenting spiritual interpretations as scientific fact, or telling you what a crystal is supposed to mean to you. Rare Minerals Earth is about sharing authentic specimens and letting you form your own connection.
That’s also why storytelling matters so much to me. I don’t just want to give you the name of a mineral – I want you to understand where it came from, how it grew, and why that particular piece or locality is worth paying attention to. It all comes back to the same feeling: amazement that the Earth can produce something this precise, this complicated and this beautiful, entirely by itself.

curated with purpose
selected for quality, authenticity and provenance
My inventory is broad but intentionally selective, with an emphasis on quality and authenticity rather than volume. You’ll find familiar collector favourites such as fluorite, quartz, aquamarine and tourmaline, alongside specimens like pyrite, celestite, dioptase, prehnite and epidote. I also work with natural impact glasses including Moldavite and Libyan Desert Glass, and from time to time I’m able to source genuinely rare pieces that serious collectors tend to wait patiently for.
I prefer to offer fewer, better specimens rather than bulk material. Every piece is photographed carefully, described accurately, and provided with provenance where possible. Orders are packed securely and with care, so they arrive in excellent condition.
Fact
01
Rare Minerals Earth was founded by me, Alex Ehrlich, in Cheshire, UK. I specialise in natural mineral specimens, particularly pieces with an interesting formation, unusual colour, good provenance, rarity or a strong sense of place.

More than anything, I am in awe of the natural world. Minerals are a very visible reminder of what the Earth is capable of doing when it is given the right chemistry, heat, pressure, space and an almost unimaginable amount of time.
Fact
03
I am interested in geology, deep time, mineral formation and the conditions needed to produce different crystals, but there is also a mystery to it that I do not think science takes away.
Fact
04
I am spiritual and very open-minded. I am also a Reiki Master, although I do not lead with that side of myself or use the business to preach about spiritual beliefs.
Fact
05
Quality and authenticity matter more to me than simply having a huge amount of stock. I would rather sell specimens that have something worth talking about.

The whole business comes back to the same feeling: amazement that the Earth can produce something so precise, complicated and beautiful entirely by itself.
