This is a naturally broken piece of chrome tourmaline from the Laletema Mountains in Tanzania. Its strongest feature is the colour: bright chrome green running through lighter and darker zones, with enough transparency for light to pass through much of the stone.

It is flat and included, so it is not conventional faceting rough, but the shape could work well in a wire-wrapped or bezel-set jewellery design. It would also suit someone looking for an affordable natural chrome tourmaline for a mineral or gemstone collection.
