This is a natural Swiss Alpine quartz crystal from Geeren Valley in Valais, Switzerland. What caught my attention with this piece is the unusually broad, glassy clear quartz face, which has a strong reflective surface with visible internal veils and inclusions. The flattened form allows light to travel through a surprisingly large area of the crystal, giving it much more visual presence than its size might suggest.

There is also a lovely amount of natural Alpine character around the edges, including light iron staining and smaller crystal growth contrasting with the clearer central face. At only 3.3 cm across it is a compact mineral specimen, but the combination of transparency, unusual flattened rock crystal form and Swiss provenance makes this one particularly interesting to me.
