This is the colour that makes Imperial Topaz from Ouro Preto so special. The crystal has a genuinely bright, saturated pink appearance, moving through raspberry and purplish-pink tones depending on the angle and light, rather than the much more commonly encountered golden-orange material.

At 55.7 carats, it is also a substantial crystal for such an uncommon colour. Pink and purple sit among the rarest and most sought-after colours produced by the Ouro Preto district, and this piece combines that colour with good transparency, a strong elongated crystal form and pronounced natural striations down the prism faces. It is not a perfect crystal: the upper termination is irregular and partially incomplete, with natural internal fractures and contact/cleavage areas visible in the photographs.
