This is a genuine hedgehog Moldavite specimen from Nesměň Forest in South Bohemia, Czech Republic. The natural surface is deeply sculpted, with sharp ridges, serrated edges and pronounced three-dimensional relief giving it the distinctive hedgehog form sought by serious Moldavite collectors. The olive-green glass becomes much brighter and more translucent when backlit, revealing the depth of the natural etching across the piece.

What I particularly like about this specimen is how much character it has from every angle. The curved silhouette, spiky surface and deep sculpting make it immediately different from the far more common softly pitted Moldavite forms. At 2.5 grams it is still compact, but the combination of genuine Nesměň provenance, strong hedgehog morphology and intact natural surface makes this a genuinely unusual Czech tektite specimen.

Metaphysical Properties

Moldavite is traditionally associated with transformation, personal growth and change. Its unusual meteoritic origin and distinctive natural form have also made it popular with collectors interested in both tektites and metaphysical minerals.
