This natural golden-orange Imperial Topaz crystal comes from Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais, Brazil. What caught my attention with this one is the termination: rather than being simply a piece of rough, it has a well-preserved natural multi-faced top with beautiful growth texture, sitting above a stout crystal body covered in pronounced vertical striations. The colour moves from warm golden yellow into richer amber and sherry-orange tones, particularly around the termination and lower edge.

At 12.5ct it is a small specimen, but it has a surprisingly substantial presence for its size. There are visible dark natural inclusions and internal growth features throughout, so this is not a flawless gem-clear crystal; for me its appeal is much more about the classic Ouro Preto colour, strong crystal form and unusually good natural termination. It was supplied to me as natural, unheated and untreated, and you will receive the exact crystal shown in the photographs.
