This is a beautifully formed Imperial Topaz crystal from Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais, Brazil, with a rich golden-orange body colour and a particularly attractive natural termination. In direct light it reads predominantly amber to golden orange, but when light passes through the crystal the colour becomes noticeably softer and more complex, bringing out peach, salmon-orange and slightly pinkish tones that are difficult to capture in a single photograph.

At 11.7ct, the crystal has a very elegant elongated form with strong natural striations running down the prism faces, good lustre and large transparent areas. The pointed multi-faced termination is one of its strongest features and remains very well preserved. There is a concentrated natural inclusion and healed-fracture zone beneath the termination, with reflective feather-like structures and darker included material, but much of the surrounding crystal remains impressively transparent. For me, the combination of crystal form, termination, transparency and changing golden-to-peach colour is what makes this such an appealing Ouro Preto specimen.

Metaphysical Properties

Imperial Topaz is traditionally associated with confidence, motivation, abundance and personal power. It is often chosen by people focusing on ambition, creativity and turning plans into action.

Golden and peach-toned Topaz is also commonly associated with optimism, vitality and self-belief, particularly through connections with the solar plexus and sacral chakras. For those who use crystals metaphysically, Imperial Topaz is often regarded as a stone of momentum, prosperity and positive personal growth.
