This set includes four natural hessonite garnet crystals from Tanzania, each with its own slightly different shape, colour and surface texture. Across the group the colour ranges from warm cinnamon orange through to brighter honey-orange areas, with some lovely translucency when the crystals catch the light.

I particularly liked these as a set rather than as four separate specimens. Hessonite is more widely available than many of the minerals I stock, but these have been chosen for their colour and natural crystal character. Together they make an interesting little group for a garnet collection, mineral study set or anyone who simply likes seeing how much variation can occur within the same mineral.
