This natural faden quartz crystal is a large raw quartz specimen measuring 11 cm and weighing 165 g, making it substantial for this growth habit. With multiple clean terminations rising along a defined internal seam across pale Alpine feldspar, it offers stronger structure than a simple single quartz point and suits mineral collectors looking for a true faden quartz display piece.
The quartz shows a mix of clearer faces and softer matte surfaces, giving depth without looking flat or overly polished. It does not stand upright on its own and displays best leaned slightly back on a stand or with museum putty, which is typical for Alpine cleft material. The internal thread associated with faden growth can be seen within the crystal body, giving it the characteristic linear formation that defines this variety. This specimen comes from Piz Beverin in the Canton of Graubünden, Switzerland, from a cleft known as “The Faden pocket,” and was collected at approximately 1700 metres above sea level by Alpine mountaineers. Material from named Alpine pockets with recorded altitude adds provenance that serious Alpine quartz collectors value.

Metaphysical properties
Faden quartz is often associated with connection and continuity because of the internal thread that runs through the crystal. Some people place it in a workspace or meditation area as a symbol of steady focus and alignment. These interpretations are personal rather than scientific, but many appreciate the symbolism alongside the geological formation.
