This epidote with quartz specimen from Hakkari, Turkey has a dense covering of dark olive-green epidote with numerous clear to milky quartz crystals growing across the surface. There are several larger quartz points around the piece too, with smaller crystals appearing amongst the epidote and giving it plenty of sparkle when the light catches it.

What I particularly like about this one is the amount of quartz you can see against the much darker epidote underneath. It isn’t dominated by one large crystal; instead there are different sizes and shapes of quartz across the specimen, including some lovely clearer points around the edges. At 123g it also feels surprisingly substantial in the hand for a specimen measuring under 6cm.
