This is a highly crystallised epidote with quartz specimen from Hakkâri, Turkey, featuring a dense field of well-formed translucent quartz crystals with olive-green epidote growing between, across and visually through many of the crystals. The numerous terminations create a particularly busy, three-dimensional display despite the specimen measuring just 5.2 cm.
What makes this piece stand out is the quality and density of the quartz crystallisation. Rather than one dominant focal crystal, the display face is filled with numerous stout terminated quartz points at different heights and angles, accompanied by green epidote and areas of darker, more distinctly developed epidote along the matrix. It is a strong example for a collector interested in the distinctive quartz and epidote associations from Hakkâri.
