This natural black opal cabochon from Lightning Ridge displays rare patches of red and green fire, backed by flashes of blue and orange on a dark N3 body tone. Small but highly colourful, it shows the sought-after brilliance that makes Lightning Ridge opals the world’s most famous.

Cut as an oval cabochon with a domed face and semi-polished surface, it has a natural character while still being suitable for setting in a ring or pendant.
