A natural fossil shell from India lined with sparkling druzy quartz. This chalcedony-replaced gastropod preserves a clear spiral structure and bright quartz coverage, with its natural interior visible in detail. At just over 10 g, it is slightly larger than miniature specimens, making it a desirable size for display.
Spiralite fossils are Late Cretaceous gastropods found in the Dhar region of Madhya Pradesh. Over millions of years, chalcedony replaced the original shell while quartz crystallised inside, creating geode-like interiors. Collectors value examples with both preserved spiral form and well-developed druzy crystal growth — qualities present in this specimen.
