Smoky quartz crystal from the Swiss Alps, cut naturally by the mountain rather than shaped by tools. This cabinet size smoky quartz point has a broad body, a clean natural termination, and the sort of presence that suits a serious mineral collection or a considered display space at home.

It comes from Val Maighels in Graubünden, with the cleft name recorded on the label and extraction carried out by skilled mountaineers. The crystal does not stand upright on its own, which is typical for Alpine cleft material, and it displays best leaned slightly back on a stand so the clearer faces catch the light. You can see internal veils and zoning through the body, giving it depth and variation rather than a flat, uniform tone. The base shows natural contact from where it was attached in the cleft.
