Pollucite is one of the world’s principal natural sources of caesium, one of the rarest naturally occurring alkali metals. Unlike familiar collector minerals such as quartz or fluorite, pollucite forms only in highly evolved granitic pegmatites, where the final remnants of magma become enriched in some of Earth’s rarest elements.
This natural etched crystal comes from Pakistan and displays the softly frosted surfaces that develop during its geological history. At 5.44 g, this is a compact but well-defined example with attractive natural etching across the crystal faces. It is ideal for collectors looking to add a less familiar mineral to their cabinet, particularly those with an interest in pegmatites, rare-element minerals or the geology behind the periodic table.
