This natural solid opal comes from Lightning Ridge in New South Wales and has been shaped into a small teardrop cabochon. It shows green, orange, and blue flashes when angled towards stronger light, with a soft translucent body tone that works well in delicate jewellery designs. The piece is untreated and water-safe, making it suitable for long-term wear.

At 11 mm by 5 mm, it is a miniature opal best suited to fine settings such as dainty pendants or slim ring designs. We’ve photographed it under bright LED lighting so buyers can see the full colour range; in everyday indoor light the play of colour appears softer, as is normal for crystal opals of this size.
