This natural golden orange Imperial Topaz crystal from Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais, Brazil has a rich colour that moves from bright gold through deeper orange and occasional reddish orange tones as the crystal is viewed from different angles. Its slender prismatic form finishes in a particularly well-defined natural termination, giving this small crystal much more presence than its 3.7ct weight might suggest.

The body remains strongly transparent through several faces, revealing natural internal growth features, reflective fractures and dark mineral inclusions. One side carries more obvious natural contact and surface irregularity, while the opposite faces retain good vitreous lustre and strong longitudinal striations. This is a small but very characterful collector specimen, with the combination of saturated colour, transparency and sharp crystal form doing most of the work visually.
