This natural crystallised rose quartz comes from Morro Redondo in Minas Gerais, Brazil, the locality associated with the Canga Rosa variety. Unlike the massive, non-crystalline rose quartz most commonly encountered, this specimen displays visible crystal faces, a rich natural pink colour and contrasting areas of pale matrix.
Crystallised rose quartz is one of the rarest forms of quartz and Brazil has produced many of the finest examples ever discovered. This 5 g specimen combines distinct crystal development with a compact display size, making it an unusual addition to collections of rose quartz, Brazilian minerals and crystallised quartz specimens.
